Part One
Tell me a little about yourself? I just celebrated my 35th anniversary with IBM in the end of July. I have had the opportunity to do a lot of different jobs over the course of those 35 years. But the one I have now I think is the best job in the plant. My job title at IBM is that I am the Manager of Corporate Citizenship and Corporate Affairs. I represent IBM, I am a member of the corporate citizenship and corporate affairs staff globally. But my primary job has been to really be the liaison to the education community in Vermont. I am one of the folks who is engaged with the community on a regular basis. I spend a lot of time with educators. I recruit IBM volunteers to reach out into schools to visit classrooms to do hands on activities to do out reach to clubs like Boys and Girls club.
How did you find out about Vtrim? I found out about Vtrim from a friend of mine. She had already signed up and I was not aware of Vtrim and she explained to me the program and her rational for doing it, and it was that both of her parents had health problems. And I thought, ohhh, so have mine. Both my parents had bypass surgery and I decided this would be a good time for me to start dealing with that. It would give me an opportunity to spend time with her and do something for myself.
